Fresh Meat @ Smart Bar Flier

As the Soul Clap boys say, “free your mind and your ass will follow.” Dancers, party kids and other situationists bring your child self to Smart Bar on June 18 for Fresh Meat. Chicago’s house label that could, Fresh Meat Records presents the first night of the hottest dance party to come lately, featuring mixing by Boston’s Soul Clap in their first Smart Bar appearance alongside label residents Mazi (Audio Soul Project) and Nathan Drew Larsen.

Get down on a Friday night! Elyte and Cnyce of Soul Clap and Mazi and Nathan all love mixing House in its many forms so come prepared for a night of special music hand picked with care. From their tasteful set at last WMC’s Sunday School for Degenerates to spirit rousing romps at Arena Club in Berlin or T-Bar in London, Soul Clap are pushing the boundaries of club music, burning up the scene with DJ sets and production that harness the past while looking forward. With their blistering tour schedule, releases on Wolf + Lamb Black and the Adventures of Soul Clap podcast, Elyte and Cnyce show their sincere devotion to the beat.

Soul Clap’s descent on Chicago comes just in time. Mazi and Nathan’s homespun Fresh Meat Records has been making noise with a heady take on the ‘other side’ of the Chicago sound. Theirs being the deeper, soulful, dubby and emotional dance records that are inspired by the heart of their hometown. Nathan and Mazi have been working with artists from around the house & disco multiverse, including MANIK (New York), Kris Wadsworth (Detroit), Matthias Vogt (Motor City Soul / Germany), Art of Tones (Llorca / France), Shenoda (UK), Florian Kruse, Stel and Nils Nuernburg (Germany & Greece).

Come check out the e-funk and hear why Beatport calls Fresh Meat the new sound of Chicago house.
