Nathan Drew Larsen spent several months working with other Fresh Meat artists to prepare this compilation album and episodic house mix, which focuses on the expressive and deep sound of this little label of big shoulders. Chuck Bukowski wrote, "If you're losing your soul and you know it, then you've still got a soul left to lose.” "When Bad People Cook Good Food Volume Two" continues the eclectic deep house tradition of Chicago's Fresh Meat Records, this edition compiled and mixed by Nathan, co-label head and recording artist. Volume Two continues in the tradition of the first, including tracks selected from the catalog and previously unreleased material. There are three new songs, the deep and thick "Do What You Wanna" by London based Shenoda, the hypnotic and bassy “Mountain Cock” by Florian Kruse and Vesuviano and "Cream" the 111 bpm beauty by newcomers from New York state, Densmore & Cort. This sublime album also features a new smooth and bumping remix of the Wiretappeur (Nils Nuernburg, Stel, and Florian Kruse) hit "I Want You" by the talented Airgroove (Neil Bainbridge & Mark Lowry)," "Hey Leon" a mysterious old school gem by Audio Soul Project and two fresh edits from Nathan - a DJ friendly version of his own winding psychedelic groover "Lambdalette" and a stripped down and spaced out edit of Audio Soul Project's "Return Flight." The unreleased material is woven together by some of the label's recent deeper output, including ASP's brilliantly emotive "Bit More Grit," Wiretappeur's Detroit inspired "8 Days a Week," Matthias Vogt's (Motor City Soul's) raw, elegant and swinging "My Enchanted Basement," and Nathan's warm vintage key-laden rendition of Florian Kruse's "Shake it Off."
